AMEN (American Medical Employment
Network) was founded by a pioneer of the Internet, Pat Collins. Our
philosophy continues to be that the Internet can be a helpful, personal
resource rather than an anonymous, nonspecific behemoth. Our primary goal
is to filter out the non-pertinent data and to directly match those physicians
who are most likely to be interested in specific positions with the individual
or organization seeking to fill that position, and to do it quickly and
efficiently.
PhyJob is the only internet physician
job site where physician employment candidates are pre-qualified to meet
specific criteria:
US Citizenship or Permanent
Residency
Completion (or anticipated completion)
of accredited U.S. medical residency and/or fellowship
Active (or anticipated) medical
specialty board certification or eligiblity for certification
We do not accept registrations of physician
assistants, nurse practitioners, medical therapists, technologists, nurses,
administrators or others simply to increase our candidate count. We are
less interested in "hits" or "candidate counts" than in assuring that we
list legitimate physician practice opportunities and bonafide qualified
physician candidates. We do not consider PhyJob.com either an advertising
site or a physician database. Rather, PhyJob is the first and only truly
interactive physician employment site where doctors seeking jobs and healthcare
employers seeking doctors can match, meet, and communicate with one another.
PhyJob is specific to physician jobs
and physician practice opportunities, and therefore ONLY physicians are
accepted for registration.
Registered PhyJob physician employment
candidates are U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents*.
Currently practicing doctors seeking
physician practice opportunities at PhyJob.com are board certified or actively
board eligible in their respective medical specialties, and have completed
United States medical specialty residency, and fellowship if applicable,
in the medical specialty in which they are seeking physician employment.
Likewise, PhyJob physician candidates who are completing medical specialty
residency or fellowship training anticipate eligibility to certify in their
medical specialty upon completion of postgraduate medical training.
*We maintain a separate list of shortage
specialty physicians with J-1 or H1B visa status for subscribing clients
with those special needs. However these individuals are not included in
the PhyJob active physician candidate database.
We also do not accept registration
of physicians located outside the United States who are not graduates of
ACGME Accredited medical residency and fellowship programs, and who also
are not U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents.
PhyJob is home to over 17,000 physicians
seeking practice opportunities each year. As physicians find jobs and new
physician employment candidates register, our active physician job candidate
database changes dynamically. Depending upon the time of year, there are
normally 7,000 to 8,500 physician employment candidates actively registered
with PhyJob.
Most registered PhyJob physician
job seekers inactivate their registration upon securing a physician practice
opportunity. Others notify PhyJob that they are no longer seeking physician
employment, and their PhyJob registration is inactivated. When a physician
job seeker is no longer reachable, his/her registration is inactivated.
A word about "stale" candidates and
"tire kickers": PhyJob physician employment candidates receive numerous
job notifications on a regular basis. Some doctors are more immediate candidates
than others; however long-term candidates are not inactivated simply because
they have been subscribed for physician job notifications for longer than
some others. We have had numerous long-term physician candidates accept
positions with PhyJob subscribers after being registered for four years
or more! We have also had physician job seekers accept positions
out of necessity and maintain active registration with PhyJob as they continue
their search for the ideal physician practice opportunity. Many of these
doctors have also found their physician dream job with a PhyJob subscriber.
A "passive candidate" is not a "tire kicker", but simply a cautious doctor
who knows what she/he is looking for and is willing to wait for the right
physician job opportunity to come along. A doctor waiting for the appropriate
physician practice opportunity is a physician employment candidate who
is likely to stay in the new position for a long time.
Our PhyJob client list is confidential.
Some
of our subscribing employers are individual physicians in practice who
are seeking an associate, future partner, or a physician to eventually
take over or purchase their practice. Many of our subscribers are individual
hospitals in cities, towns and rural communities across the United States.
And the names of our larger PhyJob subscribing healthcare employers are
well-known.
We have a greater than 90% renewal
rate among organizations with continual physician recruitment needs. The
subscribers most likely to renew their PhyJob subscription are those inhouse
physician recruiters who are most active in posting positions and in searching
the physician employment candidate database and in regularly personally
contacting the doctors in whom they are interested.
With an annual PhyJob subscription
costing 1/3 or less the average contingency recruitment fee for a single
physician, it's no wonder our subscribers frequently initiate contract
renewal before we do!
